Sales support two great conservation projects

When a retired jeweller visited Fiordland recently, he was shocked by the absence of birdsong—(think the valley pre-Zealandia)—and now he wants to help.

Will and his wife Jan enjoy the company of many native manu species including kiwi nui/North Island brown kiwi on their land, where they run an extensive trap line.

Over the past decade, Will's sculpted a series of necklaces of native species, from birds and tuatara to dolphins, and they’re now available to buy here at the Zealandia Gift Shop. 

All the proceeds from sales will be divided between Zealandia and buying traps for the Tamatea Dusky Restoration project in Fiordland through a company called Pure Salt that's doing extensive conservation and trapping work in Dusky Sound. That’s what this special jewellery collection is named after.

These exquisite works are made from silicon bronze and white bronze alloys.
