Wellington-based artist Helen Casey draws her inspiration from the wild and natural world of our island home. Growing up in Scotland and Wellington’s Breaker Bay, she’s fallen in love with wild creatures and tries to capture their inner lives and emotions in graphite, paint and ink. Her eye-catching intricately detailed art is influenced from her time as a scientific illustrator at Te Papa and her native Celtic culture. The rich textures of starry skies, stormy seas, feathers and leaves reveals a love and care in her art that is truly captivating.
As an Elected Artist at the New Zealand Academy Of Fine Arts, Helen’s work is held in private collections all over the world.
All prints are on wooden boards, using a variety of mediums such as ink, acrylic and graphite. Each print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, guaranteeing its status as a genuine Giclee archival print.
