Kānuka Honey comes from the Kānuka tree (Kunzea ericoides) which is closely related to the world-famed Mānuka. Kānuka is indigenous to New Zealand and is plentiful in the forests of Te Urewera. 

This honey variety is raw; not filtered or heat-treated, and no extra processing. Just from the hive to the jar. Nature’s gift.

The Manawa Kānuka Honey was in the top 10 as a Category winner in the contest for the World’s Best Tasting Honey (11th Black Jar International Honey Tasting Contest) held in Asheville, USA in 2022.

Like its more famous cousin Mānuka, research finds that Kānuka Honey has high levels of hydrogen peroxide that give it antibiotic properties, so is a natural way to treat burns, cuts, bruises and grazes.
