Paku Toki
Paku Toki
The Paku Toki comes with a handle and blade both made from high quality, post-industrial, recycled nylon, plus lashing in both natural and pango jute twine.
Paku is a New Zealand design studio dedicated to creating products uniquely of Aotearoa. They do this by combining mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge) with the latest technologies to reimagine the objects around us in a bicultural way.
Their kaupapa is of inclusivity and pride in Māori culture and language as tangata whenua and tangata tiriti, which they hope to make more accessible to everyone.
Paku was started by long-time friends Dr Johnson Witehira (Māori Design Specialist) and James Prier (Design Engineer).
Designed and made in Aotearoa New Zealand, from locally sourced post-industrial waste stream nylon.
This product is also available for purchase instore at Zealandia's gift shop.
All proceeds support Zealandia's 500 year conservation mission.
