Wellington Panoramic Magnet
Wellington Panoramic Magnet
This simple magnet, by kiwi photographer Glen Coates, features a stunning panoramic photograph of Wellington city. The whole photograph is backed by a sheet magnet making it nice and secure on your fridge, and great for holding up larger sheets of paper - like the kids' artwork!
When Glen learned the name of his Christchurch street - Kahu Road - was Māori for the Harrier Hawk, he quickly took on the name for his new publishing company. A bird that can soar effortlessly on rising air was an inspiring symbol, and the hawk’s superb vision from high in the sky had a certain parallel with his own quest to capture detail on film from high ground. As a specialist in panoramas taken from the vantage point of a helicopter, the symbolism was perfect.
Size: 200 x 50mm.
