Wellington is one of the few cities in the world where native bird populations are increasing, due in large part to the tireless work by Zealandia's staff and volunteers, and the world-first Zealandia fence. But you can continue this fight in your own backyard!

This gift bundle is a starter kit for conservation at home. The bundle includes:

1. A wooden trap tunnel containing both rat and mouse traps, built by the Kāpiti Menzshed.
2. A book about the best New Zealand natives to plant in your backyard. Planting natives is the best way to encourage native birds to flourish as it gives them both food and protection.
3. Three packs of New Zealand native seeds to get you started: Wharariki Flax, Kākā Beak / Ngutukākā, and Hebe / Napuka.
